Welcome to Blue Monocle, a fine art print shop based in Denver, Colorado that specializes in making museum-quality print reproductions of antique maps. We're serious about fine prints–our products are made to the highest archival standards using only the highest quality materials.
A Little History
We started Blue Monocle in 2008 out of an obsession with history, geography, and printmaking. We love antique maps because they are truly windows onto history, showing paths of exploration, scientific discovery, developing and changing societies, and more. They also connect us to the places that are most important to us: our towns, our ancestry, and our common heritage. Plus, many of them are beautiful works of art in their own right.
Over the years we've had the privilege to make prints for numerous museums, universities, and television and movie productions, and our products have been featured in InStyle Magazine and displayed on the set of The Martha Stewart Show. We regularly add products to our collection, and we're continually searching for beautiful and interesting maps. We also love working with customers to help them find the perfect map–if we don't already have what you're looking for, we can often locate maps of specific places or with specific features and make them available for purchase as print reproductions on our site.
Since 2012 we've also made a subset of our collection available for purchase in our Etsy store. Etsy has a great community of buyers and sellers and provides a marketplace for unique handmade and custom products. Our images are also available as fine art prints in our Fine Art America store. Fine Art America offers prints on a wide range of materials, as well as extensive framing options.
