Welcome to Blue Monocle, a fine art print shop based in Denver, Colorado that specializes in making high-quality reproductions of antique maps and prints. We're serious about fine prints–our prints are made to the highest archival standards using only the highest quality materials.
A Little History
We started Blue Monocle in 2008 out of an obsession with history, geography, and printmaking. We love historical maps and prints because they are truly windows onto history, showing paths of exploration, scientific discovery, developing and changing societies, and more. They also connect us to the places that are most important to us: our towns, our ancestry, and our common heritage. Plus, many of them are beautiful works of art in their own right.
Our collection has expanded over the years (and keeps on growing!) from an initial collection of maps, and now includes some of our favorite vintage photos and posters. We've had the privilege to make prints for numerous museums, universities, and television and movie productions, and our products have been featured in InStyle Magazine and displayed on the set of The Martha Stewart Show. In 2012, we opened a store front on Etsy.com where we sell a subset of the prints available here, and the response since then has been tremendous.
