About This Map

Originally published in Bode's star atlas "Uranographia", these two maps cover the entire sky in both the northern and southern hemispheres. The celestial equator runs horizontally through the middle of each map, so that each shows half of the northern and half of the southern hemisphere. One map shows the half of the sky that contains Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces, Aries, and Taurus, and the other map shows the half that contains Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, and Scorpio. All of the other primary constellations are depicted as well.
